Real Estate License Holding

License holding company

JPB Homes, LLC is a Michigan Real Estate Broker that can hold your Salesperson license for those not actively practicing real estate. While in the holding, licensees can keep their license active, work on a referral basis, and do not have to pay state, national, local, or MLS dues. However, you are no longer able to practice real estate.

Why should I join?

If you’re taking a break from practicing real estate, then joining JPB Homes, LLC will save you time and money. Avoid paying board, MLS, and desk fees by putting your license on hold.

Are there any other fees or payments due while my license is on hold?

No, the only cost associated with putting your license on hold is your monthly $15.00 payment to JPB Homes, LLC. No start up fee and you will not have to pay dues to the MLS or any real estate boards, however you are still required to complete Continuing Education.

Do I still need to complete Continuing Education courses?

Yes. In order to keep your license active in the State of MI, you still need to maintain your Continuing Education or CE requirements in order to keep you license active.

How can I earn money from referrals?

Real estate referral fees are typically 25% of the referred agent’s gross commission. However, this fee is negotiable. You and the other agent can choose whatever percentage you both agree upon for your referral split and JPB Homes, LLC will pay you out as the referring agent 90% of that total commission.

What makes you different than other holding companies?

First, we charge month to month allowing the greatest flexibility. Second, there are no start up fee. Third, we have a 90/10 split on referral fee.

Do you hold Associate Broker licenses?

No, JPB Homes, LLC does not hold Associate Broker licenses. We only accept real estate salesperson licenses into our holding company.

Will I have access to the MLS?

As your license will be taken out of active Salesperson/REALTOR® practice, you will no longer have access to the MLS.

How do real estate referral fees work?

Referral fees reward agents or brokers who refer prospective clients to other real estate agents to handle the transaction. The referred agent becomes the clients primary point of contact and the referring agent receives a fee if the transaction closes.

Can I still participate in real estate activities?

Not directly. While you can still generate income from referring clients, any direct involvement in real estate transactions is prohibited while your license is on hold. You cannot hold yourself out as an active real estate salesperson.
